The Five Wives of Maurice Pinder
Written by Clare Phillips
Autumn Production: The Five Wives of Maurice Pinder
by Matt Charman
Production 27-30 October 2010
Directed by Stephanie McKinley

‘I've got some of the answers haven't I?’ So Maurice tells his grown up son Vincent when he questions the latest addition to Maurice's carefully constructed idea of the perfect family.

In an ordinary tree-lined street in a south London suburb, the domestic intricacies of polygamous relationships are explored. Maurice, the head of a household of five women with various temperaments and demands, has his hands full. But who is exploiting whom and who decides what constitutes a family anyway? This modern, funny and dramatic play takes a provocative look at marriage and relationships from different perspectives and asks whether variety really is the spice of life.

The play is a small character driven piece for a cast of 8, 5 female & 3 male. These are excellent and challenging parts for both sexes, with ages ranging from early 20s - late 50s. There are 3 female parts which are specifically great for the 35 - 50 year age range, but all roles have great comic touches and all characters go on an emotional journey during the play.

Auditions were held on Sunday 11th July and is now fully cast. For more information or to express your interest in helping in another capacity please contact Stephanie for more details at steph.mckinley99@googlemail.com
